Like a blouse or shirt, the top of a dress can also be a problem for a woman with sloping shoulders. There are so many pretty dresses that I look at, want to buy, but can’t because the neckline isn’t right for me, with my sloping shoulders. Experience has taught me that I won’t wear such a dress, so I’m more careful now when I buy. I look at all the pretty dresses, but stick to the ones that I know will work when I actually flash the credit card.
I’ve picked out a selection of dresses here that I think would look nice on me, with my sloping shoulders. I hope that you will find some that you like as well.
Like blouses and shirts, stay away from large-cut open necks that will droop off your shoulders and expose your bra strap. Look for dresses with button down fronts and collars, or necklines that are not too big. Necklines cut straight across the neck are great for us and very flattering. Dresses with sleeves and necklines cut near the collar bone are good too. Necklines that are too wide can just droop on us.
Again, halter-top dresses actually are ok for us sloping shoulder gals because we don’t have to deal with anything staying on the shoulder and can use a strapless bra.
Try clothes on until you know what works for you. I know this is an online website, but look at these styles, then go try some similar clothes on in the store before you start buying. Once you know what works for you, you can safely purchase online. I actually put this site together for myself, so that when I need new clothes, I can just come here and pick out something. I very sure these styles will work for me, but I’ve been shopping for awhile with my sloping shoulders in mind when selecting clothing.
